Branches Domestic Violence Shelter Welcomes New Board Leadership

Branches Domestic Violence Shelter is pleased to welcome newly elected Board leadership to help further and guide Branches’ lifesaving mission. Board President, Kara Hornbuckle, steps into her new role with Branches as a long-time, active volunteer, donor, and previous fiscal officer. Hornbuckle has a long history of service as a Marshall graduate, a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. and as a neighborhood ambassador for the Fairfield Innovation Plan. Regarding her role, former Board President, Jessica Staples comments, “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time serving as the board president for Branches and welcome our new board president –Kara Hornbuckle. I’m looking forward to working alongside Kara as she steps into the position and for the continued growth of the organization.”

Leading the Branches board alongside Hornbuckle, are Vice-President Jessica Staples, Director of Charitable Giving and Special Projects at Valley Health Systems, Secretary Sara Witt, Attorney at Witt Law, PLLC, and Fiscal Officer, Laci Browning, Associate at Offutt Nord, PLLC. These women bring a variety of experience to their leadership roles.

“I’m very excited to be taking on the role of the new Board President. I’m ready to work more closely with Branches in order to provide support, ensure that the shelter continues to provide its excellent services to the best of our abilities, as well as to continue to help the shelter grow,” says Kara Hornbuckle, Branches Board President.

Branches Domestic Violence Shelter is dedicated to the mission of educating, advocating, empowering, and enacting change by providing lifesaving services to those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking.
